Search the Nephi Court Docket

Start your Nephi court docket search with the office named on your citation, summons, or notice. Nephi runs a city Justice Court for local traffic, ordinance, infraction, misdemeanor, and small-claims matters, while bigger cases travel through the Juab County District Court. A Nephi docket search works by case number, party name, citation, court location, or date range. The clerk can confirm the newest setting. Public case history may list filings and outcomes, though restricted cases stay hidden and online entries are never certified court records.

Nephi Monday Court Calendar

The official Nephi City Justice Court page posts court every Monday except holidays. That is the standing local pattern, and it helps you pick the right contact. It is not a promise your case shows up on every Monday calendar. Whatever notice, order, or current setting exists controls.

The statewide Utah Courts calendar works differently. It covers a rolling two-week period and gets daily updates. Choose the Nephi court or the relevant Juab location. Then check the case number, judge, hearing type, date, time, appearance type, and any posted Webex link against the Nephi case history.

One source describes normal court days. The other lists actual settings. A holiday, a reset, or a missing entry should send you to the phone. Call 435-623-1263.

Nephi Municipal Court Basics

The court's official name is Nephi City Justice Court. It is a limited-jurisdiction Utah court, not a broad municipal records office. Its docket can include several things. Nephi traffic citations, city ordinance violations, infractions, class B and C misdemeanors, and authorized small claims all appear there. Your citation or summons remains the best clue to venue.

Judge Barbara Finlinson presides, and Phelisha Hosea serves as clerk on the Nephi page. The clerk line is 435-623-1263, and email goes to jcjuab@utcourts.gov. Hours run Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday hours are different: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

For a location, the Nephi page prints only "Nephi, UT 84648" with no street address. Call before you travel. Confirm the current room and entry point. The District Court address may not be the public counter for a Nephi City matter.

Nephi City and County Dockets

Nephi offers two local Justice Court contact paths. Nephi City Justice Court and Juab County Justice Court keep separate dockets split by territory. Both may use the same Utah Courts systems and email domain. Shared technology does not merge the records.

Check the Court Location field before you call. A Nephi resident might have a city, county, or District Court case. The location named in XChange tells you which clerk can verify the docket and issue an official copy.

Court Dates and Settings in Nephi

A Nephi setting can surface in several places: XChange case history, the two-week calendar, a filed notice, or a message straight from the court. Read the newest dated event. An old arraignment never turns into a future trial date. A reset is not a dismissal.

DateThe current Nephi hearing date listed on the newest notice or event.
TimeThe scheduled time, which may differ from the broader Monday court session.
Court LocationNephi City Justice Court, Juab County Justice Court, or Fourth District Court.
JudgeThe assigned or presiding judge shown for the setting.
Setting TypeArraignment, pretrial, trial, sentencing, review, or another hearing.
AppearanceIn person or remote, with Webex details when the court posts them.

Juab County allows a courthouse laptop or Webex unless the court directs otherwise. A remote field on the entry is not permission to skip an in-person setting. Confirm your Nephi appearance method with the court.

Nephi Judge and Clerk Roles

Judge Finlinson serves both Nephi City and Juab County Justice Courts. Her dual assignment can make a search result feel familiar across locations. The court name still determines the file. The official judicial biography confirms those public assignments.

The Nephi clerk keeps the city court record. The clerk answers setting questions and handles copy or access requests for that location. The Juab County Attorney prosecutes public cases but does not certify Nephi docket copies. Calling the prosecutor for a court record just adds a needless handoff.

Before phoning the Nephi clerk, keep the court name and case number together. Say what you need. It might be a future setting, an image listed in XChange, a payment entry, or a certified paper. Those details let staff tell a schedule question from a records request. The result may name another court. If it names Juab County Justice Court or Fourth District Court, use that court's line. Do not route the request through the Nephi City clerk.

The manifest image comes from the official Nephi city website. The Nephi government source is the page that displays it.

The city source adds local context. The Nephi Justice Court page and Utah Courts systems remain the direct docket routes.

Traffic Tickets in Nephi

Start with the ticket itself. A Nephi citation lists the court, the citation number, the violation, your response window, and whether you must appear. Plug those details into XChange using Justice Court jurisdiction, the Citation Number field, the citation location, and a Nephi court scope. If the docket comes back under Juab County Justice Court, go with that court instead of forcing a city match.

For your own case, MyCourtCase is the better route. Register with an email, a case number, the court location, and government-issued ID, and you get free case history, papers, notices, and payment tools. It is not a public Nephi name search, though.

Paying a ticket counts as a guilty plea. A not-guilty plea points the case toward pretrial or trial. Read the exact Nephi instructions before you act, above all when the citation requires an appearance. The Juab traffic ticket record covers county-wide ticket procedures.

Nephi After-Hours Payment Drop Box

The Nephi court page lists an after-hours payment drop box in the hallway. It takes payments only. It is not a records-request box. Dropping an envelope in it is not proof the payment hit your docket either. Keep a copy of your case or citation number handy.

Before you use the box, confirm the balance. Confirm the accepted form of payment, the due date, and how to reach the building after hours. The court posts no live details on those points. After delivery, check MyCourtCase or call the Nephi clerk. That is how you make sure the payment landed on the right case.

Key point: A drop-box payment changes the case only after court staff receive and post it. It does not replace a required appearance.

Where Nephi Cases Go

Where a Nephi case lands depends on the charge. Nephi City Justice Court handles it only when that court has both territorial and subject-matter jurisdiction. Felonies, class A misdemeanors, general civil suits, and probate matters go elsewhere. They belong to Fourth District Court. Juvenile matters run through the Fourth District Juvenile Court office. Its records do not display in public XChange.

Docket flow: Nephi City Justice Court › Juab County court system › Utah District Court, Fourth Judicial District

An appeal from a Justice Court can proceed as a trial de novo in the proper District Court. That opens a second docket path, and you should search it separately. The Juab County court docket overview walks through the broader court split without changing the city-level first step.

Nephi as the Docket Hub

Nephi is the population center of the region. The 2020 Census counted 6,443 residents, the largest incorporated place in Juab County. Nephi's 2023 General Plan records one civic milestone. The city became the county seat on January 16, 1882. That status is why government clusters here. City, county, District Court, county attorney, and juvenile services all sit in Nephi.

Those facts are local color, not search fields. A case that starts in Nephi still has to be tied to its exact court. The city name alone cannot tell you where to search. It could point to a Justice Court docket, a District Court docket, or a restricted Juvenile Court record.

Nephi's spot near Mount Nebo and Salt Creek Canyon gives it a wide service role. Geography does not merge the dockets, though. A Nephi City citation stays separate from a county-precinct case. Both stay separate from the District Court register. Every location keeps its own event trail, even with offices a block apart.

Nephi Court Record Access Rules

A public Nephi Justice Court docket can show plenty: the court, the case number, the type, the parties, the judge, the charges or claims, the settings, the orders, and the outcome. Sealed, expunged, juvenile, and other non-public records never appear in the public XChange index. Even within a public case, the clerk may withhold private data.

Utah court-record rules:

UCJA Rule 4-202.02 classifies public, private, protected, safeguarded, and sealed records.

UCJA Rule 4-202.03 permits public access while limiting access to non-public records.

UCJA Rule 4-202.04 provides a written request and review path.

When a public Nephi record is not online, write to the right clerk. Give your contact details plus a specific case number, document, and date. Looking at the file is free. A certified copy takes clerk action and the current fee. An XChange screen will never count as certified.

Utah Courts says a written request usually draws a response within ten business days. Treat that as a norm, not a promise. Old files, broad requests, or an access review can slow things down. Ask the Nephi clerk where to mail the request. Also ask how copy or certification charges get collected.

Confirm the Nephi Court Location

The current Nephi City Justice Court page prints no street address. It lists the city, ZIP code, phone, clerk, hours, the Monday schedule, and the drop-box note. Call 435-623-1263 for the current room and entrance. That beats trusting an older directory or a county address.

When you call, have a few details ready. These include the Nephi case or citation number, the party name, the scheduled date, and the location shown in XChange. Ask whether the hearing is in person or remote. Also ask whether any security or check-in steps apply. Juab County's court page has two more rules. It bars recording or photography without prior approval and requires phones off or silent.

Note: Confirm the exact Nephi courtroom before travel. The city court page does not publish a full street address.
